About Department Here in the Organization Culture department, we're the frontline guardians and promoters of our values, mission and vision within the company facing an audience of diversified staff around the world. From diversity & inclusion, study of organizational behaviors and effectiveness to event planning and creative designs of cultural items, our daily work covers a broad spectrum of topics related to people and culture. This role has an RTO expectation of 3 days minimum requirement to the office preferred locations are Los Angeles, Seattle, or New York. About the team The Culture Training and Mechanism team is part of ByteDance's Global Organization Culture department. The team is responsible for enhancing awareness, understanding and practice of our company culture. The methods we use to do this are: Culture training/workshops: Topics such as company history, Mission, ByteStyle, Leadership Principles. Culture mechanisms/processes: Integrate culture within management mechanisms such as recruiting, onboarding, performance management, recognition and leadership development. This role will be responsible for designing and developing solutions that drive alignment towards our mission and core values, ensure our culture is embedded and integrated into the employee lifecycle, design company-wide management training and mechanisms that enable the practice of our culture, and develop tailored cultural solutions to meet the needs of our diverse, global businesses. This role will collaborate with several stakeholders, such as Organisational Culture Business Partners (OCBPs), HR Business Partners, Recruiters, Performance & Incentives Team, HR Operations, & Employer Branding. You'll be supported by our wider Organisational Culture team (comprising of specialists in culture content production, culture events/marketing, culture measurement and Diversity and Inclusion). The role would suit someone with broad expertise across HR processes, who can think innovatively to define creative ways to embed culture across the employee lifecycle. Then distill the complicated ideas into tangible outputs that drive real value and lasting impact to our employees and leaders. The individual should be comfortable leading through ambiguity, and able to navigate a fast-growing, complex, global business. What will I do? -Build deep understanding of our organisational culture, company history and management philosophies and how they influence our ways of working. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). -Support the practice of company culture for employees and leaders through integration of culture into company-wide management training programs and mechanisms, such as recruiting, onboarding, performance management, reward and recognition, cross culture collaboration, leadership development. -Assess and identify culture gaps from businesses, and proactively design, deliver, and evaluate practical solutions to address cultural challenges. -Effectively enhance understanding of company culture for employees and leaders; approaches include but are not limited to: development of learning content and toolkits, training development (online/offline), workshop facilitation.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: -First hand experience in building a culture within your own team/or a client team, which enabled wider business priorities whilst sustaining employee engagement. -Practical experience designing or implementing/executing a broad range of HR/management processes and systems, such as recruiting, onboarding, performance management, reward/recognition. -Experience in design, development and delivery/implementation of leadership development workshops and/or employee experience initiatives for Global audiences including the Mainland China population. Business proficiency in Mandarin would be advantageous. -Subject matter does not need to be HR/ learning related and can be a 'business'/'technical' field. -Experience in change, project and/or product management. Including needs analysis, business consulting, data mining, stakeholder management, project management. -Detail-oriented, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable insights. -A proven track record of global, cross-functional partnership and relationship management. Preferably in a fast-moving, global industry or start-up company. -Applicants should be willing to work from the office a minimum of 3-4 days a week (subject to change), and be willing to travel locally and internationally. Preferred Qualifications: -Experience working in a multi-cultural global organization is highly advantageous. -Fluent in English; advantageous to have business proficiency in Mandarin. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $118560 - $216000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
