About the Team Our team is dedicated to elevating the level of cybersecurity to fully support Bytedance as well as our clients' digital journey. We aim high at building the next-generation cybersecurity. Rooted from years of practical experience in the enterprise security domain within ByteDance, the team now runs as a business. We provide a comprehensive set of security capabilities to help our clients develop a Secure Access Service Edge(SASE) architecture with simplicity and convenience. Job Responsibilities 1. Define the Architecture Blueprint: Lead the design and evolution of the global distributed SASE platform's overall technical architecture, ensuring world-class performance, security, and scalability. 2. Tackle Core Challenges: Design the system's core components, including but not limited to global intelligent traffic scheduling (GSLB), high-performance data plane gateways (PoPs), and integrated security service engines such as ZTNA, SWG, and CASB. 3. Establish Technical Standards: Develop core design specifications, interface standards, and security guidelines; influence R&D teams through technical leadership rather than administrative authority to drive efficient delivery under a unified architectural vision. 4. Set the Technical Direction: Stay ahead of industry trends (e.g., QUIC, eBPF, AI in Security) and incorporate them into the platform’s long-term architecture roadmap to ensure continuous technological leadership.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications 1. Hands-on experience in architecting large-scale, highly available distributed systems, with proven success in building complex platforms from the ground up. 2. Deep expertise in networking protocols, with strong understanding and hands-on experience in TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, etc. 3. Solid grasp of the cloud-native technology stack, with experience in designing and optimizing large-scale Kubernetes clusters and familiarity with microservices architectures. 4. Broad knowledge of security, with in-depth expertise in at least one area such as Zero Trust (ZTNA), network security (FW, SWG), or identity/authentication (SAML, OAuth). 5. Strong decision-making skills, able to balance trade-offs among performance, cost, security, and development efficiency under complex constraints. Preferred Qualifications 1. Experience in SD-WAN, CDN, large-scale proxy systems, or carrier-grade network design/development. 2. Familiarity with high-performance packet processing technologies such as DPDK, VPP, and eBPF. 3. Strong programming skills in Go, C++, or Rust, with the ability to rapidly prototype and validate architectural concepts. 4. Experience leading global, distributed teams in complex architectural design projects.
