About the Team: The Global Payment team of ByteDance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms including TikTok. Responsibilities - Lead and oversee the company’s SCD license application process and serve as the primary point of contact with BACEN and other regulators on all matters related to lending activities. - Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program tailored to lending operations, including consumer credit, installment loans, merchant financing, and related credit products. - Partner closely with local business development, credit risk, collections, and product teams to ensure lending products comply with all applicable Brazilian regulatory requirements. - Prepare and respond to regulatory inquiries, inspections, and audits, including managing interactions with BACEN, CVM, SENACON, and other relevant authorities. - Advise stakeholders on compliance risks related to credit underwriting, interest rate limits, disclosure requirements, credit bureau reporting, collections practices, and consumer protection standards. - Monitor and interpret changes in lending-related regulations (e.g., BACEN Circulars, Resolutions, LGPD requirements for credit data, anti-over indebtedness laws) and translate them into actionable policies and procedures. - Identify gaps in compliance systems, policies, and processes across credit origination, servicing, collections, and reporting; recommend and implement enhancements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s) - Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Economics, or related field (Master’s degree or legal specialization in financial regulation preferred). - 5+ years of compliance experience in lending or credit-related institutions (banks, fintech lenders, SCD/SEP institutions, credit card issuers, or regulatory bodies). - Strong understanding of BACEN regulations for SCD/SEP entities, credit origination, credit risk management, fair lending, and consumer protection requirements. - Proven experience engaging with regulators and industry bodies; prior experience working within a Brazilian regulatory authority (e.g., BACEN, CVM, SENACON) is a strong plus. - Direct working knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks as applied to lending, including BACEN, FATF, Wolfsberg, and global standards. - Proven experience managing regulatory exams, supervisory communications, and audits with Brazilian regulators. Preferred Qualification(s) - Strong business mindset with the ability to provide pragmatic compliance advice that supports innovation and growth in lending while mitigating regulatory risk. - A collaborative and proactive team player, capable of operating globally, cross-functionally, and with self-initiative.
