Responsibilities Lead the development, optimization and performance enhancement of the next generation of video encoder algorithms and hardware models, ensuring seamless integration between algorithmic requirements and hardware design. Optimize, simplify and maintain existing algorithms to improve coding performance, reduce area and bandwidth consumption and improve throughput. Tune the coding parameters of the previous generation encoder, and investigate the tools and algorithm configuration of the next generation encoder. Develop various tuning models and algorithms/tools to optimize coding performance. Develop and test various encoder preset configurations to adapt to various application scenarios including live and on-demand streaming. Work closely with Hardware Designers and support Hardware Verification teams. Mentor junior-level team members.
Qualifications
Qualifications Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Data Science, Mathematics or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Data Science, Mathematics or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in each of the following: Configuring encoder and determining the division and architecture of hardware functions based on analyzing the performance requirements of encoder and the computational complexity of tools in the coding standard; and Tuning algorithms to achieve the highest compression ratio based on characteristics of video streaming in live and on-demand streaming scenarios. Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in the following: Developing hardware encoder algorithms, C-models and hardware architecture based on AVC, HEVC, or VVC standards, including the following sub-modules: translational motion estimation; affine motion estimation; intra-frame and inter-frame mode decision; and motion compensation based temporal filter. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $264514 - $438000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
