Responsibilities: - Proactively monitor payroll related compliance and regulatory updates at a federal and state tax level, communicate their impact on business and payroll operations and update policies accordingly; - Ensure payroll operations comply with all relevant labor, tax and other laws (as required); - Develop and maintain country-level payroll compliance whitepapers covering statutory payroll, employment tax, social security, and reporting requirements; - Translate regulatory changes into clear, country-specific operational guidance, process updates, system and control improvements; - Provide compliance input to support payroll system development, implementation and automation; - Coordinate with and, where appropriate, engage with state tax authorities and regulatory bodies; - Partner with HR Technology, Product Team and Legal to develop and/or enhance existing payroll systems to meet payroll compliance requirements; - Manage audits, compliance reviews and regulatory enquiries across the region.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - Experience undertaking internal risk reviews covering payroll tax compliance is essential; - Proven expertise in payroll compliance and administration, with a strong background in tax consulting; - Experience in leading payroll tax audits and resolving complex tax issues; - Proven ability to build frameworks and documentation from scratch in ambiguous or evolving environments; - Strong knowledge of US payroll and HR systems (e.g. Workday, ADP, Global View, Smart Compliance); Preferred Qualifications: - Expert working knowledge of California and New York state tax compliance and audit programmes; - Experience working in a government (state or federal) payroll tax or regulatory environment. - Advantageous to have 5 years+ hands on experience in US payroll related compliance; - Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification is highly desirable but not mandatory.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $112000 - $280000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
