
Responsibilities
The Global Data Center Engineering team serves the company global regions with focus on enabling business growth with new data center capacities, doing so with assurance of the data center engineering systems operating continuous stability. Our team is geographically based, with the focus of having local staff to service the local regions. We collaborate with other project teams to select sites, contract sites, designs and build out the new sites. We are looking for a self-motivated data center mechanical engineering expert to serve our Americas regional projects. As a data center mechanical engineer, your responsibilities will include the following: - Participate and review in data center site selection and contractual evaluations, design solutions, and support project executions through construction to final site acceptance. - To participate and review Data Center MEP Design and other necessary disciplines for new data center builds and data hall fit outs and create data hall layout plans and perform test fits to validate server capacity plans and failover calculations - Participate in Testing and Commissioning Discussions to determine required tests to verify design elements. - Support the DC Engineering FM team to become a Subject Matter Expert and understand how to overcome design limitations and risks. - Conduct a periodic Audit or Assessment to access the effectiveness and practicality of the design in-use on our data centers - Be our ambassador to explain data center infrastructure design to visitors and to continually find ways to collaborate and break new ground to enhance MEP design to meet future business needs. - International travel requirement: up to 6 times per year, including but not limited to China, Americas, and South Asia. Candidates must have a valid passport and be able to obtain the necessary visas.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or relevant disciplines. - Knowledge of power and cooling designs, and calculations to determine capacity requirements - Understand Power and Cooling Redundancy and how it is implemented in design (i.e., 2N or N+1 Distributed Redundant, UTI, TIA-942, ASHRAE standards) - Experience with Cooling Redundancy and how Concurrent Maintainability is implemented in design (i.e, N+1 or N+2). - Experience in the following areas: Lead or influence Engineering Design and Architect teams to complete Data Center Conceptual>30%>60%>90% Detailed Design Process; Practice Data Center Tiering Standards (i.e., TIA-942 Rated 3, or Uptime Tier 3) in a detailed design process; Lead or influence a construction team to complete Data Hall fit-out experience, including IT services Coordination, Power and Cooling Planning; Lead or influence a testing and commissioning team to perform L1 to L5 commissioning tests to validate the system design intent and resolve technical problems along the way. - Mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, electrical sub-distribution systems, etc. - Liquid cooling for IT systems and strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to clarity and detail. Preferred Qualifications: - Familiar with data centre mechanical system engineering designs, building industrial standards and codes, CFD modeling, PUE calculations, systems commissioning, systems availability analysis. Heat transfer and emergency power generation experience are essential for this job. - 4 years or more experience in data center engineering

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $159000 - $272000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
