Team Introduction The Global Payment Treasury team provides the payment solutions behind ByteDance platforms including TikTok: payment acquiring, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, and reconciliations. We solve complex treasury and payment challenges across global markets, managing liquidity, FX, reconciliation, and payment operations while balancing regulatory requirements, cost efficiency, and business needs. You will keep payments smooth, secure, and reliable at scale, for users across ByteDance's platforms. This role owns internal and external financing for the company’s consumer and merchant lending businesses, covering financing planning, funding-partner origination, structuring, negotiation, documentation, closing, and post-closing management. The role partners with the Asset & Liability Management team to define financing size, tenor, currency, and cost parameters and works across business, finance, credit risk, legal, tax, compliance, product, technology, data, and institutional business development. Responsibilities: - Funding Strategy & Planning: Own the medium- to long-term funding strategy and execution roadmap; develop short-, medium-, and long-term financing plans; design the financing mix across countries, products, and providers to diversify sources and control concentration; establish financing reserves and refinancing plans based on capacity, market conditions, and stress tests. - Funding Channels & Institutional Relationships: Originate and maintain relationships with banks, funds, and institutional investors; partner with business development teams on asset issuances and pitches; lead funding-partner onboarding, commercial negotiation, and solution design across size, cost, tenor, and covenant requirements. - Structured Finance & Transaction Execution: Independently lead financing transactions end-to-end from origination and structuring through due diligence, negotiation, documentation, and closing; collaborate with finance, tax, legal, compliance, and credit risk teams; convert financing structures into repeatable, scalable models; and assess the impact of asset quality and prepayment on financing terms and credit enhancement. - Asset Pool & Post-Closing Management: Establish asset eligibility, pool onboarding, ongoing management, amortization, and performance analysis mechanisms; manage drawdowns, repayments, data reporting, and covenant monitoring; track facility utilization and refinancing risks; and partner with the ALM team to match assets to funding channels. - Funding Operations & Systems: Build funding operating policies and process controls across the transaction lifecycle; drive systems to centrally manage facilities, drawdowns, repayments, covenants, asset pools, and institutional relationships; and establish analytics for cost of funds, channel performance, and execution efficiency to improve funding strategy. This role will be based onsite at our office and will require a 5-day onsite work arrangement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification(s): - 5+ years of experience in funding, structured finance, treasury, or a related field, preferably with experience in credit-asset or consumer-finance funding. - Hands-on experience independently leading structured financing transactions, with clear ownership across origination, structuring, negotiation, documentation, and closing. - Deep understanding of consumer lending models, the loan asset lifecycle, and asset-quality metrics. - Full-cycle experience across funding-partner origination, pitch, term sheet, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, documentation, and closing. - Strong financial modelling skills covering loan cash flows, financing requirements, cost of funds, and transaction structures. - Strong understanding of how vintage, delinquency, loss, and prepayment affect financing structures and asset-pool performance. - Strong external communication, commercial negotiation, cross-functional leadership, senior stakeholder management, team management, and proficient in both written and spoken English. Preferred Qualification(s): - Experience in Southeast Asian and Latin American financial markets is preferred, together with knowledge of local regulatory and capital-control constraints.
