About The Global Payment team of ByteDance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms including TikTok. We are seeking a Regional Compliance Officer to oversee and manage compliance initiatives in the MENA Region and ensure that our payment products meet regulatory standards and requirements. This role requires extensive knowledge of MENA compliance regulations, strong leadership abilities, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and regions. Responsibilities: - Leading ad hoc compliance projects related to the MENA Region as and when required - Providing guidance, training and ongoing support to employees on compliance matters - Identify and review management information and data reports, perform trend analysis and identifying risks. Proactively manage financial and economic crime risks. - Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to regulatory engagement, channel partnerships, group's global compliance, legal and corporate governance functions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: - Understanding financial crime risk assessments in line with legal and regulatory requirements and guidance. - The capability to assess risk and control, highlight deficiencies and recommend process improvements. - Prior management experience to lead compliance activity, including working with regulators, examiners and auditors in MENA Region. - Thorough knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in the MENA Region Preferred Qualifications: - 5 years Compliance management experience in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. Preference is given to candidates who have managed payments, banking or other financial services compliance programs in the MENA region. - Ability to prioritize effectively and identify key areas of improvement and implementation required from a regulatory point of view. - Expert on major MENA Region financial regulations and familiarity of regulatory regimes in the region. - Ability to analyze and interpret complex regulatory frameworks and apply them effectively. - Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments across different jurisdictions. - Ability to deal with multiple regulatory domains (i.e. regulatory licensing, consumer protection, payments, BSA/AML/sanctions, privacy, etc ) and to understand how they interact with one-another - Excellent leadership and team management skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills ByteDance is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives.
